Bally Sagoo Live and Dinner at Punjab Grill Tappa – Lohri Celebrations at DLF

This time we had a bumper Lohri celebration.
People returning home from their offices at Cyberhub on Friday, the 12th of January 2018 were in for a treat. DLF Cyberhub got the renowned musician Bally Sagoo to an open house at its foyer that evening. We loved the setting – the colourful stage and the beautifully attired dholwalas who started the musical evening – like an invocation.

Meanwhile, Sagoo appeared on stage and started off with “Gur Naalo Ishq Mitha”. He went on to play one hit after the other – “Tum Bin”, “Noorie”, “Mera Laung Gawacha” and included mix of latest number like “Shape of You”. The audience, initially taken back, came out of their stupor very soon. They rushed to the free area in front of the stage and started dancing their hearts out. The crowd increased in no time and nobody seemed to mind the jostle. Kids to adults of all ages swayed away to the spirit of Lohri. The dholwallas came back in the later part of the evening and the dance ended on a Bhangra note with them. Just like how we traditionally celebrate Lohri over the years.

The Bally Sagoo concert was followed by a pre-Lohri dinner at Punjab Grill Tappa at Cyberhub. Keeping the festival in mind, a curated menu was laid out here. We had a host of vegetarian and non-vegetarian starters such as cheeseling chat, barley salad, and brain curry. The main course comprised chicken and meat dishes, biriyani, and breads such as naan and methi paratha. The dessert was unique – Malpua pancake with ice cream topping.

Dancing to the mixes with the great Bally Sagoo himself made our Lohri worth remembering. The dinner at Punjab Grill Tappa, DLF Cyberhub was like Bhangra in our stomach. A Fun-Do evening we say.
