Biswa Bangla – The Beauty of the Handcrafted

Aug 5, 2017 | Handicraft

Venue: Rajiv Gandhi Handicrafts Bhawan, Near CP, Delhi

Our store hunt for the festival season continues and this week we wish to take you to Biswa Bangla.

Biswa Bangla is the handicrafts and handloom store of West Bengal. This brand was adopted some years back and within a short time span they have established showrooms all over the country. The New Delhi store, inaugurated in the year 2014, is at Rajiv Gandhi Handicrafts Bhawan, on Baba Kharak Singh Marg, towards the Connaught Place end. It is a two storied establishment, well lit and all items evenly spread out for the ease of visibility of the customers.

Traditional sarees including jamdani and taant from Bengal, beautiful handloom products and hand-crafted marvels of Bengal like dokra and carved conch shells, Darjeeling tea, Bengali pickles and our all time favourite mustard seasoning kasundi  as well as Bangla books, CDs of Bengali music and classic are available here. This apart, if one is looking for classic kurtas, dhotis or pajamas for men, woven stoles or dupattas with nifty kantha work or dainty jamdani motifs or a statement wall hanging or a wood carved gambhira mask, that fits into all sorts of decor, Biswa Bangla is the place. While Bengali in origin and skill, all products have a contemporary feel and exude refinement of quality and taste.

They may be having special discounts for the upcoming Durga Puja season. Hence, if you wish to have some unique or eastern twist to your wardrobe, food palette or home, Biswa Bangla deserves a dekko.
