Blind School Diwali Mela 2014

Oct 17, 2014 | Fairs, Festivals, Shopping

The much awaited Diwali Mela at the Blind Relief Association is perhaps the most popular Diwali do in Delhi. Held very close to Diwali, this fair carries crafty stuff in contemporary styles. The goods on sale comprise clothes, ornaments, home décor, Feng Shui items, dry flowers, handmade chocolates et al. Among the Diwali specific stuff, designer diyas, hanging lights to candles, candle stands and Subh Diwali danglers in all shapes and designs give the fair a typical festival flavour.

The Blind Relief Association stall is one of the biggest crowd pullers. Given the colourful hand-made paper gift bags, gift tags, hand made paper cards and attractive terracotta products in traditional forms such as fountain diyas and hattis, it is not difficult to see why it is so popular.

The pre-winter pleasant weather that Delhi is experiencing is adding cheer to the event. If you wish to buy some arty items as last minute gifts, or to do up your house, or do up your self – and are running late, this fair is an extremely viable destination.
