The Wildlife Trust of India and Ministry of Environment have organised Gaj Mahotsav. The focus is to raise awareness about Asiatic elephants. It is a first and kudos to this project. This is what we encountered here.

Revival of Sarees – Exhibition by Designer Prasad Bidapa
Designer Prasad Bidapa is well known for his work with Indian textiles and fashion. He recently held an exhibition at Bikaner House. The show, Saris of Memory, was about revival of specially selected saris from the personal collection of women.
Celebration of India US 70 years of relations
American Center at Kasturba Gandhi Marg is holding an exhibition of archival photographs marking 70 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries. The exhibition is on till 14 August 2018 and shows photographs that date back to 1950s. The exhibition was inaugurated through a cultural program and we were glad to be invited for the beautiful evening.

The Peru embassy recently hosted a fun event. To celebrate the 1st anniversary of the opening of the Art Gallery of the Embassy of Peru and the 1st anniversary of the Indo-Peruvian Friendship Association (INPEFA), the Ambassador hosted a cocktail for media and invited guests. We were very curious to see the art on display here.

DLF Cyberhub has organised a cultural exchange festival “The Global Gate” in association with One World Foundation. The featured country this year is Afghanistan. This five days long exhibition presents a fusion of Indian and Afghani art, culture, handloom and handicraft.
Leela – An exhibition on Ramayana tradition
IGNCA at Janpath is holding an exhibition on religious and theatrical practices that have evolved out of Ramayan. They have tried to capture glimpses of Ram Leela that have transcended space and time. Aptly named “Leela”, the display looked great from outside. Consequently, although we were there to attend the festival “Lok Gatha”, we gravitated to the exhibition hall.

The Grub Fest 2017 flags off Madame Tussauds in Delhi
Delhi is up for all events related to food. The Grub Fest’s second instalment for the year 2017 was held last weekend at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium. The area was swarming with activities and the ticket counters witnessed long queues. The late autumn nip was just right to sustain the surging crowds at the event.

Aajeevika Mela at Pragati Maidan
Ajeevika Mela was an event displaying goods produced by rural women. It was held in Hall 18 at Pragati Maidan. For the benefit of the visitors, the venue was fully air conditioned and entry tickets were waived.
Serendipity Arts Festival
Serendipity Arts Festival just concluded at Bikaner House. A host of traditional and modern painting and sculpture were displayed during the event. The program also included performing art events like theatre, storytelling and dance. The Festival was organised by the Serendipity Arts Trust.
