This is rare. It was two firsts for us. A) Being “tea-totallers: we were keen to try the new Chaayos outlet at Connaught Place. B) Chaayos keeps tweaking their menu as per the season. The new winter menu was just launched and we were invited to try that.
We wanted a break from the heavy duty Indian food that we were eating all around us given the festival and the wedding season. And yet wasn’t upbeat about surviving on raws and boils in this lovely weather. In such circumstance, Honk at Pullman came up with a Thai food festival just in time.
DLF Place Saket recently held a three evening long festival – The Nite Owl Festival 2.0. It was a flea market setting with shops and boutiques selling clothes, accessories and winter wear. But then, shopping was just one of the activities and the focus seemed to be a complete Fun-do experience.
K3, JW Mariott at Aerocity has ushered in the winter their way – with a Winter Brunch menu. Living up to the falling leaves – the chilly air – the lovely sunshine on a Sunday morning, we spent a leisurely afternoon at K3, JW Mariott, Aerocity over a brunch. It took us about two hours to only taste select sections of it.
Delhi – the city of ‘parathe wali gali’, the place of ‘chandani chowk ki chaat’ can make your mouth water with the North Indian cuisines and the flavours of Punjab. Changing times have brought the world closer and we definitely have the option to order food online in Delhi and elsewhere too.
Indians have woken up to the benefits of green tea and are willing to tamper their taste buds to appreciate many different varieties of tea. Riding the popularity wave of green tea, National Institute of Yerba Mate INYM, from the Republic of Argentina has recently launched Yerba Mate tea in India. DLF5, the new luxury address on Golf Course Road, Gurgaon, did something really cool. In line with the early winter chill, they organised a series of cultural events that if anything upped every spirit attending the event. The programs were as well-lit as they can get – literally and figuratively – what with Muzaffar and Meera Ali and Muzaffar’s son Murad playing prominent roles.
ISKCON Food Relief Foundation at Palwal, Haryana, serves free mid-day meals to thousands of children in the local schools. The food is prepared in a factory like kitchen that ensures that the items are not touched by hand till it reaches the plates of the students. We were invited to have a look around at the mega kitchen and see the grand process for ourselves. We can’t quite believe what we saw but am trying our best to put it in writing.
