Himachal is an easy and popular destination among people from Delhi NCR. Within a few hours, one can escape the dry dusty plains of North Indian and rejuvenate in the hills of Himachal. Dharmashala is one of our favourite destinations in Himachal. The heady combination of peace / nature / tranquility / history / culture / party makes a complete Dharmshala experience. Its a place that never seems old. If you know what you want.
A stay at Neemrana Fort Palace is an indulgence. Its proximity to Delhi encouraged us to try it out. Its like a Staycation where most of the activities are in or around the fort. While one can visit the fort as part of a day trip, spending the night here completes the experience.
Sitting in the fast paced Delhi NCR, at times, one yearns for a getaway. This isn’t easy since we do not have too much time on hand to prepare, to travel, to enjoy the destination and be back on our work desks Monday morning. A way out are the mountains of Himachal. Just 6 hours drive and one is at Kasauli – 6100 feet above sea level and officially a hill station.

A day trip to Karna lake, about 140 Kms from Delhi, takes about 2.5 hours. Once out of Delhi, the highway is dotted with dhabas and resorts where one can stop for breakfast/lunch or even spend the night. Gulshan dhaba, where we stopped, is a somewhat modern take on dhaba which does not disappoint. Karna lake, surrounded by greenery, is a great photo op. Further, boating facilities make this a very attractive fun-do for children as well.
Dalhousie and Khajjiar in Himachal Pradesh are a must do for people looking for peace and quiet and a system format from city life.

Mount Abu is the only hill station in Rajasthan. We found Mount Abu to be a very activity oriented hill station. There are temples, sunset points, forests, trekking, shopping options, a lake, heritage places and options galore. Even in the month of June an excellent weather made this trip very pleasant and memorable for us.

Mussorie.,why? Thats what our friends asked. The question is valid. We could not identify a single thing in Mussorie that is not available in other hill stations. The mall road-the highest point-the fantastic view while you track. . Mussorie has it all. And that worked for us immensely. We went up there just to relax […]
