Our wish has been granted once more time. Chaayos is the latest entry in the slowly but surely expanding tea culture in Delhi. They have quite a few outlets in Delhi NCR region and we visited the SDA market joint.

Stylish decor and a Starbucks style menu made it clear that they are adamant on making tea fashionable. The menu had very many options from the conventional desi chais  to the more up-market English breakfast and Ice tea with fresh fruit pulp.

In addition to Chai they had Fruit shake, Hot chocolate, Cake slices, Sandwiches and Indian snacks such as Vada pao and Maska bun etc.

We had the desi chai where they offer 12 add ons.(Adarak, tulsi, saunf etc).

At the first round we ordered Desi chai with tulsi, adarak, saunf and cinnamon. Tea was kadak although slightly high on sweetness. On the next round we ordered the same chai with slightly different add on- kali mirch, ilaichi and ginger.  This was less sweet on request and was an even better experience.  We ordered rusk on the side.  At 23/- for two pieces this was definitely expensive.   In fact, our home variety chai at almost Rs 70/- per short cup does appear to be somewhat over the top.

The quality compensates though and given that the overall experience was nice, we are not complaining.
