Chilling at Big Chill

Venue: Khan Market

Continental cuisine is always in fashion. One of us had first dined at Big Chill on a friend’s recommendation about 7 years ago. Whenever we desire continental food, he drags us there.

There are two outlets in Khan Market but post 8 o clock, be prepared for some waiting. We had faced this before, so reached early and got seated immediately.

For entrée, we ordered the prawn zucchini salad. Although this was not featured on their menu, we had this earlier and this time, they made this on request. A combination of sauté shrimp, boiled eggplants, lettuce, cherry tomatoes, and mushrooms with olive oil-based dressing, this slightly tangy dish opened our taste buds. We had chicken pasta cooked in a red wine sauce as the main course. The dish was creamy but rich and well-cooked.

For dessert, we had a crème brulee ball and a slice of crème brulee cake. This was a custard filling in a caramel shell with a wedge of white chocolate. The combination of the hard caramel layer and the soft, sweet filling made a light, but satiating dessert and was an apt end to our dinner.
