Gurgaon’s Sector 29 is quite a hub of eateries. Proximity to the metro, plethora of offices in the area, Kingdom of Dreams and availability of almost every kind of restaurant make this place sought after with not only Gurgaon but diners from all over NCR.

To satiate the craving for Chinese food on a vegetarian day we decided to go to Chin Chin for an early dinner. We had dined there long back and liked their food. The decor is simple, red and white like most Chinese places and seating is comfortable.

While we were going through their menu, they served some caramelized peanuts with sesame seeds. We liked the look and taste of it.

We ordered a Wonton Soup and a Tofu Black Pepper. The soup was nice, fresh and light and worked as a great appetiser. The Tofu Black Pepper wasn’t as great as the soup. It was a little too greasy and the spices were also on higher side. Tofu pieces were fresh and tender and veggies were alright but the spicy gravy overpowered the tofu as well as the freshness and crunchiness of the vegetables.

To have a light dinner we intentionally avoided having any carbs like rice or noodles but the spices made consuming the tofu dish as a standalone slightly difficult.

For the kind of food they offer, their prices are quite steep – definitely not value for money. It’s a major reason why we don’t visit Chin Chin as frequently as other Chinese outlets that serve better stuff for less.
