Winter is setting in a tad early this year. We are yet to get over Diwali – Bhai Duj fatigue and Christmas is already knocking at the door. To herald the last round of festivals for the year, Park Plaza organized a cake mixing ceremony at their Shahdara property.
When we reached the event, we saw that an assortment of dry fruits was kept in trays under a bright festive canopy. Christmas carols were playing in the background. During the course of the program, all the guests were provided with aprons, gloves and chef’s caps. Thereafter, under instructions from the chef, a variety of liqueurs were pored over the said dry fruits. The guests had a lot of fun mixing the dry fruits and the alcohol. Many a selfie of sticky fingers were doing the rounds. This fruit-alcohol mixture smelled yum and heady and would be stored till Christmas for making cakes, puddings and other Christmas goodies. And we can hardly wait!
The ceremony was followed by high tea when we enjoyed the sandwiches, croissants, scones and cakes and tarts over tea and coffee.
