Excuse me boss – India Pak match over food & drinks

Jun 5, 2017 | Eating out, Food

We witnessed India’s momentous victory over Pakistan in Champion’s Trophy at this new bar in CP called Excuse Me Boss. The bar cum restaurant is located in middle circle of F block. Though the Delhi roads were deserted because of India-Pak match and terrible heat outside, this area of Connaught Place was still too crowded to provide us an easy space for parking. The restaurant has no dedicated parking or wallet available and we had to park at a little distance. We went inside to witness an overjoyed cheering crowd of diners who were enjoying the match on a huge screen. The music was loud and the selection of songs was fabulous. Foot tapping numbers in between the balls and wickets made one shake a leg off and on.

Luckily we got a decent couch close to the screen and we joined the maddening hooting and cheering as India was batting the time we were seated. We started with our routine of scotch-soda and mocktails along with several starters. Watermelon charger and summer twist were refreshingly tasty and just right on sugar. Strawberry sour was a bit too sour for our comfort. These mocktails helped us to subdue the spicy but very tasty starters. Dahi ke sholey, lehsuni chicken tikka, Mushroom kurkure and Murg malai tikka were the best. Be it paneer or chicken all the starters were freshly made and well cooked. A paan mint sheesha complimented the overall experience of the drinks, food and the amazing performance of Indian cricketers.

Excuse me boss scores high on hospitality as well. We would mostly leave bars after drinks and starters and would rarely go for main course but given their good service we decided to have some main course as well. Since food is rarely a high point at a bar & casual dining place, we were pleasantly surprised at the dal makhni and paneer lababdar. The maincourse was finger licking good. Mutton Rogan Josh and dry chilli chicken were a bit too spicy for our tastebuds but may work well with an average Dilliwala who loves spicy food. Steamed rice, naan and paratha were as good as rest of the fare.

We ended our dinner with brownie and ice cream. The brownies were cut in heart shapes and were served with a dollop of vanilla ice cream in a martini glass. The dish looked cute and tasted good.

We went to Excuse me boss with not so high expectations but left with a lot of good vibes and full tummies. We give this place a big thumbs up.
