FLYP@MTV-reviews

Venue: N Block, Outer Circle, Connaught Place
Date: 10 December 2015

FLYP@Mtv is a new addition to Delhi’s club/pub/live music destinations.  We were recently invited to the launch party and this place is quite a cool one we must say. It’s located in CP’s Outer Circle where once our another favorite, Nirula’s PotPourry, used to be. In fact, it is right next to Starbucks.

True to MTV’s youthful image, the cafe is also as hep as it can get. They have a huge dining and play area where seats are widely spread out. A stage for live performances, giant screens, a big funky MTV logo, and all the razzmatazz rule the floor.

The menu is curated by celebrity chef and MasterChef judge Ranveer Brar. He cooked live and shared tips with food bloggers and enthusiasts present at the launch.

We loved what they served. Everything was a bit of fusion. Maki rolls, Biryani Aranchini, Tulsi Fish Tikkas, Stuffed Boiled Eggs, etc are some of the yummy finger food that we remember and loved the most. All these items had an Indian twist. Carrying this style-forward, for dessert they served Gulabjamun Cheesecake and Masala Tea Rasgulla. We were initially a little inhibited with the dessert items, but after tasting, realised that the experiments were successful. Apart from the above dishes, they had a counter for Sushis and smoked Salmon. Everything was top-class.

From cocktails, “Boomboom” from Thailand was gin served with cucumber and it tasted fresh and yum.  But “Tall dark and Irish” was probably the finest cocktail we have ever tasted. The taste was a unique combination of coffee flavors – bitter and sour. We know this is what we are ordering next time we are visiting FLYP.

There was a live performance by a young band. After that, stand-up comedian Sanjay Rajoura rendered light and quick comedy sessions. His casual act and live interaction were in sync with the evening; he managed to strike a chord with the guests effortlessly.

FLYP@Mtv is a happening place and it’s going to be talked about in food and party circles for its food and X factor but what would make us come to FLYP is the outstanding hospitality and warmth of the staff. Rarely do we meet such sweet and forthcoming guys in the restaurant industry. They managed a big crowd with smiles and provided personal attention to every guest.

We highly recommend FLYP@Mtv for its food, ambiance, and, last but not the least, outstanding service.
