The Japan Foundation presents 'Forest and Other Pieces' by Noriyuki Sawa Puppet Theatre

The Japan Foundation’s  presentation ‘Forest and Other Pieces’ by Noriyuki Sawa Puppet Theater was a heart warming experience. A relatively new form of puppetry “Figure Theater”  is a sweet way of story telling, enchanting for adults and entertaining for kids.

We were denied entry for first performance because we were 10 minutes late. After the first piece we were allowed to go in. On a week evening 7 PM is just too early for people who are coming from their work.

We got to see rest of the pieces. The backbone of the performances were definite story and short duration. “The Star” was the star performance for me. A story so poignant, so beautiful it compensated for the disappointment of not being able to see the first item.

Other pieces like “Three pigs” and the one called “Seed” were also nice. Absolutely A rated stuff.
