Fun-Food-Shopping at The Grand Venice Mall

It is that time of the year when we routinely travel out of the city (read New Year madness). Recently we drove to Gwalior via Yamuna Expressway and came across this imposing structure at Greater Noida. This was The Grand Venice Mall, a mall inspired by the beautiful city of Venice. This property was on our to-do list for a while. Plus it was time for lunch and we had to stop anyway. So we stopped here.

Our hunger took us to Terrazzo – Food Court on the second floor. It had a host of options from pizzas to pastas to rolls to South Indian fare to Chinese. In fact the iconic Karim’s had an outlet serving biriyanis and other Mughlai food. But to satiate our desi food craving, we opted for naan-butter chicken at the famous Moti Mahal Delux outlet here. We followed this up with rejuvenating tea at the tea stall – Chai Garam.

All fueled up, we explored this place a little bit. Given the Venice theme, artificial tunnels have been incorporated inside the mall for gondola rides. Riding in gondolas – the traditional Venetian row boats – was an aspiration and we hopped on. The cruise was not very long but managed to create an enjoyably wobbly experience. This mall also boasts of perhaps the largest gaming area in Delhi NCR, Masti Zone. We saw bowling alleys, Bumper Cars, Virtual Cricket and Formula 1 and a host of other exciting games. We didn’t have much time on hand and decided to come again to hang out here.

For shopping aspirants, The Grand Venice Mall seemed comprehensive. From the ubiquitous Lifestyle, Central, Bigbazar and fbb – fashion at Big Bazar, we spotted luxury retails outlets covering specific requirements such ezone, Voylla fashion jewellery, HomeTown and so on. In fact, we bought a much needed charging cable from iNvent, an outlet for apple phones and other products. However mundane it may be, this purchase saved the day.

The Grand Venice Mall was a discovery. What we liked the most was, not just shopping, it provided a host of chilling out options such as entertainment, and dining. Basically there was something for everybody. So all you revelers looking out for a fresh spot for any or all of the above activities, you can head to this spot. The Grand Venice Mall is a Fun-Do indeed and surely worth a dekko.
