Venue: DLF Cyberhub Gurgaon

Spreading Happiness” is the tagline of IHOP, the iconic American food chain who have been operating since 1958. They are in an expansion mode and their first restaurant is about to open very soon at the tony Cyberhub restaurant complex under the franchise Kwal’s Catering. A press conference cum preview was held for select section of the media and bloggers and chefs from their California outlet were flown in to give a glimpse to the IHOP experience.

Gary Moore, vice president of DineEquity Inc., the owner of IHOP addressed the gathering over luncheon.

The popular items that IHOP is bringing for us includes pancakes, waffles, burgers and essentially American all day breakfast fare.

Moore said that a special menu was curated for the Indian experience with about 50% vegetarian options. For instance, they would carry regular (read non-vegetarian) and egg less vegetarian versions of the pancake.

Apparently it took the IHOP chefs about 18 months to come up with a vegetarian version of the pancake. Sameer Lamba from Kwal’s Catering also spoke on the occasion and said that this was to boost the breakfast dining-out options available in India.

The event was followed by lunch that comprised selected delicious items such as Lamb Chunks Omelet, Chocolate Choco-Chip Pancake and Berry Topped Waffles. The last dish was an Instagrammer’s delight!

IHOP gets a LOUD shout out from us and we wish them great going in India.
