Junkyard Cafe is the new addition to Southern Park Mall in Saket. Saket has some of our favourite restaurants like Harry’s Bar, Hard Rock Cafe, etc. The Junkyard Cafe has a new branch here in Saket after Junkyard Cafe, Rajouri Garden.

Though the concept of both the cafes is same, what we liked more in Junkyard Saket is that it is more spacious and has natural lighting inside. As we went there for a weekend lunch this was quite noticeable. The washrooms are also bigger and better than the Rajouri outlet.

They have a big bar, spacious table arrangement, and interesting interiors. A dummy glider plane, made of junk, hangs in front of the bar. In fact, they have even taken the decor to the next level. A Michael Jackson artwork made of buttons, screws, and other spare parts is quite a popular corner for shutterbugs and selfie kings/queens.

We had a few mocktails most noticeable of which was the beetroot-based Gardino. It looked beautiful and they have managed to retain the earthiness of the beetroot. Add to this the freshness of mint leaves and it’s a perfect drink for summer.

We also liked the mutton seek kebabs and chicken red Thai curry that we had with steamed rice. Pesto spaghetti, sushi platter and Margarita pizza were just about average. Grilled fish with butter lemon sauce was not as tender as we would like.

Tiramisu in desserts was the real show-stopper. Fresh, multilayered, soft, creamy, delicious… we’ll run out of adjectives to describe this yummy dessert. This can easily be a sole reason to visit Junkyard Cafe, Saket again.
