Karnataka Food Centre located in Karnataka Bhawan is a popular eatery for simple South Indian food.
We reached for dinner at about 8’o clock and this was 60% empty. Diners starting coming gradually and by 9, there was a long waiting outside.
We had ordered a South Indian thali and a Chow Chow bhaat (a combo of upma and kesari bhaat) and we were satisfied with both the dishes.  The thali had rice, two puris (more served on request), sambhar, rasam, a dried mixed vegetable, a gravy dish, curd and vermacilli kheer.  We ended our dinner with filter coffee, this was the star.

If you are looking for typical Kannada food (akki roti, bisibela bhaat etc.) you should perhaps try Carnatic Cafe (New Friends Colony) rather than this place. We recommend this place because:

  1. Fresh, non oily, simple food
  2. Reasonable on pocket
  3. Cleanliness
  4. Pure vegetarian fare
  5. Prompt service
  6. Warmth and hospitality of the service staff

On our way back we bought agarbattis and had great paan at a reasonable 10/- per piece.
