Le Meridien collaborates with India Art Fair 2018

Art does not happen in isolation. One discipline flows into another such is the beauty of art. Le Meridien has been partnering with India Art Fair since six years. This year, they did things differently and invited us to the event.

The Le Meridien Hub at the India Art Fair 2018 site in New Delhi converted into a visual experience where the work of celebrated photographer Lucie Robinson was showcased bringing to life the brands newest ‘Follow Me’ programme. The ‘Follow Me’ program is a visual journey through the eyes of five artists. The campaign was launched 11 years ago to provide artists a platform to showcase their work to a global audience while inspiring guests and locals to experience the European heritage of Le Méridien.

Lucie Robinson is one such artist. She has captured the romance of travel through her chic lens, from vintage cars to red rooftops and defined the true meaning of Live and Love through her collection – Rouge. Lucie’s photographs will run in a digital slideshow format on screens at all the Le Meridien properties around the globe. We had a brief chat with Lucie and came to know about her take on the similarities and contrasts between India and the world, in terms of photography and in general. Also, it was enlightening to know about her stint in Africa and Hyderabad. However, this is her first visit to Delhi and she is now busy capturing the heritage of Delhi through her lenses. We look forward to seeing more of her work.

As we said, the experience was an amalgamation of various medium that worked on a variety of senses. The Le Meridien pop up had a session on coffee art where artists created beautiful paintings on top layer of the coffee foam. Given the beauty of these designs, it broke our hearts to actually drink away the artful beverage. In fact, Lucie tried her hand at coffee art for the first time here and man she did a good job. The quality of coffee served by Le Meridien was most outstanding. In combo with the curated melt in the mouth éclairs, this was one of the best tea time experiences we have enjoyed in recent times.

Art is soul food. True that. But any experience is always enhanced with some great dining experience. Kudos to Le Meridien for bringing art and food together at India Art Fair 2018.
