Masterchef has changed the face of cooking in kitchens around the world. Cooking enthusiasts are now all too familiar with terms like smoky, gourmet and the fancy styles of plating. Food Talk India hosted a promotional Masterchef Australia theme party at Olive Qutub.

Although the event was scheduled at 7.30 pm it gained momentum in an hour and the hall was filled with foodies, media and others invitees.

After a few rounds of drinks and snacks Food Talk India people took the stage and chefs from Olive explained certain tricks and techniques that are being featured in the current Masterchef Australia Season 8 on Star World. Aerate – Deconstruct – Roulade – Molecular – Sous Vide – no wonder everyone tries to speak gourmet these days. In fact even before the chefs explained the techniques, in the course of a quiz, people already knew a thing or two about these cooking procedures. We also had few samplers ranging from salad to desserts made by these techniques.

Masterchef Australia Season 8 is special for us because Nidhi, a contestant of Indian origin made it to the top 25 for the first time in the history of this show. She made her way into Masterchef by cooking choley bhaturey. Interesting that while chefs are experimenting in their labs and coming up with these fancy dishes we from our simple Indian kitchen are winning them over with a sneak peak of our fantastic repertoire.

The party got over at a decent 10ish, a perfect timing the next morning being a work day. Masterchef Australia theme party at Olive kitchen and bar is an eye opener about all the experiments happening in food labs across the world.
