Praktan – the latest Tollywood kid on the block
The much published Bengali film Praktan was released last week. It is running in many multiplexes in Delhi – Gurgaon – Noida etc. The film has great camera work, nice music, English subtitles and very little Bengali hangover. This foresight smoothens the process of connecting with the world audience.
Levels HKV
Who minds an occasional free meal, particularly if it’s a reward for winning a contest. However, trying to redeem it is a different story. We had won a dinner voucher for Levels HKV that we went to redeem. We have mixed views on this place.
Lansdowne – Weekend getaway from Delhi
We keep scouring for weekend getaways that can be covered over a Saturday – Sunday. Lansdowne in Uttarakhand is one such destination. We left on a Friday evening and returned on Sunday night. This is a brief account of our trip.

The tea boom seems to have just started. Delhi NCR is now witnessing the sprouting of cafes that have tea as their mainstay. Its not only tea as a beverage, but tea is used as ingredients in the food that they serve. Tea Trails is the new kid on the block, or accurately speaking, Opposite N block Outer Circle, Connaught Place.
The man who dwarfed the mountains – Habitat Film Festival
Documentaries do not get theatre releases in India. The audience therefore is oblivious to the good work that happens in this area. Film Festivals are therefore one of the few platforms where we get to watch some documentaries.
Things to do in Delhi Summer- DLF Cyber hub: Eat, Drink and be Merry
DLF Cyberhub is a cluster of eating/drinking options from pricey dining to food court varieties. It provides sitting arrangements inside restaurants as well as in the open. Sprinklers strategically placed in front of the outlets spray mist and gives the area a hill station feel even during the warmest summer evenings.
The Junkyard Café – the restaurant not serving junk
Rajouri Garden evolved as a hotspot of eateries in West Delhi and we were all so excited. Every other day we hear of some new restaurant here. Given this explosion, the parking is haywire and the area is quite a clutter that we choose to miss. However we came across The Junkyard Café here on a very hot afternoon last Saturday. Given the harsh weather, the place wasn’t as crowded and the parking scene not too bad and we stopped here for lunch.
The Capital City Minstrels – a choir music concert
We don’t get to hear a lot of choir music concerts in Delhi NCR. The Capital City Minstrels as a chamber choir are a forerunner of popularizing this genre of music up north. They held a series of concerts across Delhi NCR and we watched one of them at India Habitat Centre.
Tea Halt – another option for Tea
The going is getting better for tea aficionados in Delhi NCR. Their options are increasing every other day. We quite accidentally came across Tea Halt at a somewhat distant mall, Good Earth City Center in Gurgaon. We decided to try out this place for a pre-lunch tea break!
