Paratha King – vegetarian restaurant in Rohini

This Christmas we were out to celebrate. Not Christmas really, but a birthday and we wanted a casual place where we could sit, chat and savor some desi vegetarian food. Due to Christmas rush most of the restaurants were overflowing with customers. We were passing by Paratha King in Rohini and since they had tables available, we decided to eat here. This is a vegetarian place. The ambiance and decor are simple, not much to talk about.

We ordered 4-5 Paratha combos (with choley/dal), spring rolls, noodles, tandoori momos, Amritsari stuffed kulcha etc. As mentioned in some other reviews, after 15 minutes of ordering they came and mentioned that the combos are not available. They said we should order a-la-cart dishes. That was disappointing but we were really tired and hungry and accepted the combos without choley or dal and were made to pay the same price. We ordered shahi paneer and mix veg separately to go with the parathas.

The saving grace was that all the parathas were very good. Specially the methi paratha. Sadly when we reordered, they were out of methi and we settled for paneer paratha. Mix veg was delicious but shahi paneer was passable. Spring rolls were terribly deep fried and half of the roll fell apart with filling outside on the plate. It felt like it was cooked by a novice. We didn’t like it at all. Noodles were oily spicy but delicious.

The service was inconsistent and some dishes took very long to arrive. Looks like its a new place and in due time they might improve in food and service both. One can definitely try this place just for their parathas.

    Dear Sir,

Thank You so much for such a detailed review. We really appreciate your honest and straight feedback. You guessed it correct, we certainly a new bee in restaurant industry, started a year back with a take away outlet with focus on just parathas. We opened up a dining place in April 2016, with multi cuisines. We have our little expertise in Parathas but we are certainly focusing on other cuisines as well and we are improving upon ambiance as well. On your next visit you will definitely feel the difference in all our lacking areas. Again thank you for stopping by. We wish to see you soon again.
