There are days when food takes a back seat and all we are looking for is some fuss free place where we can just hang out with buddies over some drinks, conversations and decent finger food. Soi 7 fits the bill on such days. It’s a decent pub and brewery at DLF Cyberhub.

DLF Cyberhub is probably our most favourite food mall in NCR and is full of nice places to drink and eat. We have already been to Quaff , Burma Burma and Nando’s  here and have rarely been disappointed with any of the restaurants at this food mall. Soi7 also left us pretty pleased and high of course. 🙂

We went to Soi 7 with a bunch of foodie friends on a Saturday evening. We had some beer, scotch and an Old fashioned cocktail to start with. The ambiance is very pub like minus the insufferable darkness & loud music and we like Soi7 for this. There’s music in the background but not so loud that you can’t talk. That is a big positive for us.

After a few drinks, we saw a live band that belted out some popular foot tapping numbers for the diners.

We had Yakiniku chicken salad, Oriental money bag and some corn potatoes with our drinks. Money bags looked smashing and the chicken salad was also flavorful. Corn potatoes are more for chaat loving people. Not our thing really. What we really really loved was the Chilly Garlic Fish. On our request they made it with less mirchi and that helped us polish the plate in no time.

We skipped the main course mostly but had just a bite of Pepperoni pizza. This was super delicious but we were stuffed and we wanted to keep some room for dessert.

For desserts we had a “chocolate spring roll“. This was served in a martini glass with some chocolate filled wafer rolls stuffed in a bed of vanilla ice cream. This was nice but the next dessert “Coconut jaggery ice cream” stole the show. This was way simple in looks as compared to the first dessert but in taste it was much better. The blend of jaggery and coconut in an ice cream worked really well.

Rarely do we expect good food and desserts from a pub and brewery. Surprisingly, Soi 7 has scored well on the balancing act. It has managed to maintain the taste and quality of food along with drinks.

Good food, drinks, conversations and music. What else can you ask for on a weekend?
