Surajkund 2015 was like Surajkund fair in the last few years – colorful, kitschy and crowded. The theme state was Chattisgarh and the partner country was Lebanon.

With every passing year the crowd is multiplied and the fair has become more mass oriented. Rather than appealing to the puritans it now caters to the general appeal. Hence some Chinese as well as Palika bazaar items have made their way to the fair. Unfortunately, the food is not up to the mark and expensive.

The general entertainment quotient has been upped in the recent years by introducing games and the giant wheel.

Nevertheless, this is perhaps the only fair in the country where a mind boggling variety of crafts from most corners of India, and some other parts of the world, are available at the same venue.

If you are a craft enthusiast, do visit this fair that happens between 1st to 15th February every year at Surajkund in Haryana. However to avoid long traffic snarls and tremendous parking woes, it is advisable that one visits this fair on a week day.
