This is rare. It was two firsts for us. A) Being “tea-totallers: we were keen to try the new Chaayos outlet at Connaught Place. B) Chaayos keeps tweaking their menu as per the season. The new winter menu was just launched and we were invited to try that.
DLF5, the new luxury address on Golf Course Road, Gurgaon, did something really cool. In line with the early winter chill, they organised a series of cultural events that if anything upped every spirit attending the event. The programs were as well-lit as they can get – literally and figuratively – what with Muzaffar and Meera Ali and Muzaffar’s son Murad playing prominent roles.
So Delhi, the Delhi city guide had organised a conference for bloggers and social media influencers. The program list comprised of sessions by expert panels from travel, food, fashion etc. The event was by invite and saw a huge turnout.
Chinese New Year is around the corner and we didn’t want this occasion to pass. Jasmine – the Chinese restaurant at Hotel Royal Plaza has organised a special menu for the festival. We were invited to be a part of this celebration.
Dwarka is still unexplored by people in Delhi/Gurgaon. We were in this area for the Kite Festival and explored a tea cafe here – Chaiyum. We found their chai karak and food yum.
Winters are bountiful for the hospitality industry. People are forthcoming in dining out in the Christmas – New Year season. Hence new restaurants spring and bloom this part of the year. Taksim is one such resto-bar and we were invited for the launch. Its an attempt to revive the historical Ansal Plaza and we are all for it!
Delhi’s favorite tourist hub Janpath offers one more reason to plan a visit . Tourist – a street food bar recently launched at Scindia House on Janpath road. We attended the grand launch party of this theme based restaurant/bar/lounge and are pretty excited to attend many more crazy parties at this new hotspot in town. Sarvana Bhavan is a very popular South Indian food chain. They have branches all over the world. They have not one, but two outlets at Connaught Place. Somehow, they just don’t make the cut.
