Chinese lights are posing stiff competition to the consumable sector including Diwali lights. Many in Delhi decided to shun Chinese made lights this Diwali and reverted to clay diyas. However various organisations are manufacturing electric Diwali lights. Happy Diwali – Indian style.
Blind School Diwali Mela is drawing visitors from all over NCR and beyond. The students of this institution create a host of products that light up our lives. Additionally, this year there is a unique installation that is not for sale. But for absorption. We are humbled by the experience.

The Diwali Bazar organised at Blind School is back. The designers of Delhi and surrounding regions have assembled with their fare ranging from clothes, accessories, home décor items and food. Additionally, the Blind School stall carries a variety of candles, paper items such as pads, cards, gift tags and bags, all made by the inmates. The parking arrangements are much better this year since cars may be parked at Sunheri Bag, off Lodhi Road, that is close by.
The dates for Blind School Diwali Bazaar for 2016 are 21-27 October. The timing for Diwali Mela are 10:30 am to 8 pm and entry is free for all. One can visit the Blind School Diwali Fair for their Diwali shopping. Diwali Gifts such as Chocolates, Diwali Decoration items, hand made Diyas, clothes, home accessories, art etc are available at the fair.
Blind Relief Association’s Diwali Mela is perhaps the most popular Diwali do in Delhi. The pre-winter pleasant weather that Delhi is experiencing is adding cheer to the event. The goods on sale comprise clothes, ornaments, home décor and Diwali specific stuff like designer diyas, hanging lights, candle stands and Subh Diwali danglers etc.
