Wildfire, a restaurant at Crowne Plaza Gurgaon serves Brazilian cuisine. While Brazilian football is a familiar passion, the cuisine is relatively new for us. Hence Wildfire was worth a shot and we made this our last Saturday night dinner expedition.
Indian Grill Room on Golf Course Road, Gurgaon is hosting a mango festival that comprises curated mango based dishes. The festival – Mangosome Affair is on till June 30th. Given that we are quite the “Mango People” this called for a visit.
AMPM Cafe & Bar at Galleria Market, Sector 27 Gurgaon has been on our to-do list for a while. We had a few to-dos in that area and visited the cafe on a hot summer afternoon. The second floor cafe with fuss free decor and potted plants was an oasis. For a cafe they did have a lot to offer.
It took some time for Bengali food to come out of the home kitchens to commercial spaces. There is no looking back since then and we find people from all over the country upbeat about trying out new Bengali dishes. Ki Hangla in Gurugram does just that. It has a long menu comprising popular as well as lesser known dishes of Bengali / Bangladeshi cuisines. We went the full hog during a recent dinner with Ki Hangla fare.
DLF Cyberhub is unapologetically a food-drinks hub. It is an oasis on NH8. The variety of food and drink options never ceases to impress us. However, from our experience we have seen that most bars / pubs ignore the food section, as if this is an afterthought. But we never lose hope and we recently visited Soi 7 at Cyberhub. Here is our take on this place.
Hyatt Place Gurgaon celebrated their second anniversary at the Gallery Café. We attended the lunch buffet that was organized for the occasion. It was a brightly lit Sunday afternoon and the weather had festivity in the air. The event had live music, lavish spread and a birthday cake too. Overall, it was all that a birthday party needed.
We have rarely experienced, predominantly non vegetarian restaurants serving some good vegetarian dishes. Khaaja Chowk makes an exception here. Along with their famous laal maas and fish tikkas, they are making some awesome vegetarian dishes too. Recently when we went there on a vegetarian day, we got to try their kathal and gobhi dishes along with some finger licking chaat. We didn’t regret visiting this place on a Tuesday one bit…
Birdie Num Num is a new restaurant at Global Foyer Mall on Golf Course Road, Gurgaon. They serve dishes inspired by regional cuisines of India. It is interesting as to how they have tweaked such food to make it contemporary as well as appealing to the modern well-heeled city people.
