We had vouchers from Beer Cafe, Cyberhub outlet. Three of us visited Beer Cafe here with three vouchers and had a harrowing experience. Something that we just did not bargain for.
At the outset, the attendant refused to accept multiple vouchers notwithstanding we were 3 diners with 3 separate vouchers. The only reason he cited was “this can’t be done”. When we insisted on speaking with the manager, he refused and said he would discuss this with his manager and asked us to wait. He pottered around in the area for a while after that and without having any discussion came back and said he could accept 2 vouchers only! After much persuasion and throwing logic, we managed to make some headway and agreed to accept the vouchers.
We sat and asked for the menu. We wanted the more affordable beers butt he pushed the expensive ones saying that the cheaper beers were not available. This was untrue because we saw people on other tables having the cheaper beers. But by that time we were done with the place and simply ordered whatever beer this guy would let us have.
We ordered big Indian platter, that the said attendant went on telling was passable. He kept pushing that we something from their deal menu. There was more surprise waiting when we ordered Nachos with Cheese. What came was a plate of nachos with some cheese sauce? When we asked the attendant about the cheese, his cheesy reply was “wo to aise hi likha hay” (“that is written just like that”)!!
Along with all this – we found The Beer Cafe is not value for money. We had to shell out more that Rs. 500 on top of the Rs, 1500 vouchers we had for 3 pint of beer and some finger food. One of the poorest experiences we have for a while.
The Beer Cafe guys – if you do not wish to respect your vouchers – why do you issue and distribute them in the first place? Or may be it is not the vouchers, Beer Cafe is just not a good place with no ethics or sense of honesty or hospitality.
