Uber
, the leading transport mobile application had introduced food delivery service in the year 2014 in Los Angeles. Thereafter they have expanded in 27 countries and 97 cities and are now in India. UberEATS, the food delivery service has just been launched in Delhi NCR. Their immediate delivery zone is Gurgaon or what is now officially called Gurugram.

Though there are quite a few successfully running food delivery apps like Swiggy, Zomato, Faasos and Foodpanda doing great business, how is UberEATS different?

The India launch of UBEReats was held at Hotel Le Meridien, Windsor Place on Janpath Road when we got a headsup. Representatives from UBER and UberEATS introduced the app with some presentations reflecting analysis and statistics in the food delivery areas in Delhi region. UberEATS promises to give consumers, restaurant partners, and delivery partners more options. Restaurants can tap into the Uber delivery network to expand their businesses and reach a new network of customers.

UberEATS has partnered with more than 300 restaurants so that diners can order food of their choice at the click of a button. Delivery partners can have access to flexible earning plans. Several promotional schemes and discounts have been introduced to promote the app and entice the customers to try this new app.

During the launch, Bhavik Rathod, Head of UberEATS India said that UberEATS’ USP is it is powered by the same technology that makes their transport mobile app efficient and cost-effective. This makes their food delivery service efficient and as easy as requesting a ride. They have plans of expansion of the app to other places in India.

The session concluded with a Q&A session with invited guests and media and this was followed by lunch. We are excited at the new services and look forward to a long haul for UberEATS not only in Delhi NCR but all across India.
