United Art Fair 2013

This September saw one the most beautiful art events of recent times. United Art Fair 2013 managed to bring together a huge number of artists under one roof. Stunning paintings, photography, digital art, sculptures made this show look like a festival of arts, creativity and imagination.

What make this exhibition a little different from India Art Fair are the very affordable and believable price tags.

In fact, on comparison with India Art Fair we’d quote their website unitedartfair.com “At UAF, you will get to see something very different from the India Art Fair. And the country has enough talent to host two art fairs.”

Most of the artwork displayed, were made keeping in mind the salability factor, without compromising on the quality or creativity. We weren’t surprised to witness red dots (SOLD!) on a lot of paintings.

Paintings with a loom like frame with half woven hanging wool balls, homoerotic digital art, comic art style paintings on Bollywood’s  Sholay, thematic modern art along with traditional terracotta horses, Ludo/ snakes n ladder done in Madhubani style, –  you name it and they game it. Every wall, every corner screamed creativity.

A classical dance and music performance in the evening was a little amateurish but added another art form and provided variety to the art fair.

It’s one of those shows where you just can’t resist clicking. It’s one of those art fairs that make you want to start painting again.

The review gives me mixed feelings. I feel bad about not being there. However, reading the crisp review with the plethora of photographs, I feel that I have seen it all.

    Keep up the good work!
