Wok to Walk is now in CP Delhi

Dec 16, 2017 | Eating out, Food

Truth be told – it took us a while to figure out – our kadhai is “wok” in the Chinese language Cantonese. Wok to Walk is an international chain of restaurants. Given the significance of the Chinese kadhai, it is no surprise that that serve wok stir fried Asian food. Originally from Netherlands, they have restaurants in Africa, Europe, America and Asia. Wok to Walk has opened their first two Indian outlets in Delhi.

What is different at Wok to Walk from Indian use of the kadhai is that they serve fast food that is healthy. Their USP is basically noodles or rice in a bowl with several ingredients like meat, seafood, vegetables with toppings and sauces. They let you don the chef’s cap as you decide and totally customise your meal. You mark on a menu your preferences. Example – we chose egg noodles as base from a host of other items like brown rice, multigrain noodles, hakka noodles etc. You move on to other ingredients and choose any 4 items from a host of options. We chose shrimps, chicken, pineapple and jalapenos. From various sauces (all vegetarian) we chose Bali peanut sauce. Topped it with fried onions and mix sesame seeds. Reads yum doesn’t it. Along with main meal there are two options for sides: chilly paneer and chilly chicken – we opted for chilly paneer.

The order was made in front of us in an open live kitchen. The dance of blazing flame and the wok is a food blogger’s delight. Have a look at our Slo-mo video of the same.

The noodle box was served hot and we love the sweet tangy combination of our chosen items. Given the host of ingredients, toppings and sauces one can always come and create a new box of noodles with a whole new combination. The chilly paneer was tender and finger licking tasty. The paneer had retained its softness while the veggies managed to retain their crunch.

In beverages they have soft drinks and cold pressed juices. We had pomegranate juice and loved it with our noodle box. For desserts they have ice cream and cookies.

We find the concept of customising the noodle box very interesting. The box is priced at a moderate Rs 199. The quantity is just right and one box comfortably serves one person.

Did we mention – the decor is simple, easy on eyes and in sync with the branding is orange. The potted plants in noodle boxes looked pretty and soothing. The seating capacity is limited but the staff is very friendly.

We look forward to coming here again to try out other options of their noodles very soon.
