Good article and very helpful definitely in a new city and Sydney sharing your space with a new person can be quite overwhelming these steps are quite helpful
Your post made me realized a lot has changed in Delhi, long back in 2004 , how I wish it was like this.
Great tips to settle down well in Delhi. One of my friends is on the verge of moving there and is single. Will share your blog with her. I’m sure it’s gona be of great help.
Glad to know, our best wishes to your friend.
I have never shared my space and as you said it is intimidating for me. However I do like sharing rooms at hostels and I know it is not the same as the hostels have administration where as PG doesn’t. I would definitely like to try some day and see if I can adjust. And as you said communication is the right way to get around I think.
It could be a fun experience with the right kind of company.
This is an awesome blog and a really helpful blog for every outstation student. I was the hostler too in my student days and trust me initial days were pretty difficult in a new place with new people. But thankfully days passed happily.
One has to be very cautious as well as attentive when living a pg life. It makes you independent but that independence comes with its terms and conditions 🙂
This is like a rite of passage.
I remember having shared a PG room with another person in 2004-05. I had lived in hostels before so it didn’t really bother much. But personally I prefer not having to share the same space with others. I love my privacy.
That perhaps is the case with most people but not many have the option to go solo in a new city.
Privacy should be respected from both ways. I agree that communication is good and two way communication makes living together easy.
Can’t agree more.
This is a great post especially for young people who have less experience .
The pointers are very well described.
