Dastkari Haat Crafts Bazar is back again
Dastkar is back at Dilli Haat, INA with the 33rd edition of the annual Dastkari Haat Crafts Bazar from 1st to 15th January 2019. They have partnered with Indonesia for the event. Given the current New Year chill, it is definitely a to-do of the season. Here is our first impression of the event.
32nd Annual Dastkari Haat Crafts Bazaar
The Annual Dastkari Haat Crafts Bazaar is happening at Dilli Haat, INA during 1-15 January, 2018. Dastkari Haat, under the able guidance of crafts revivalist Jaya Jaitley, has been pursuing the cause of Indian traditional crafts and textiles for ages. It is therefore no surprise that this 32nd edition of this fair is drawing huge footfalls.
Festival of Lights – Dastkar Diwali Mela
We attended the Festival of Lights, a quaint Diwali Mela organized by Dastakar prior to the festival. Along with their regular crafts based items – clothes and ornaments, home accessories, ceramics, they had lamps and Diwali motif décor items. Additionally, a group of Rajasthani singers and dancers provided a welcome relief to the dazed shoppers as well as their disinterested escorts who had been forced to accompany them.
Dastkar Desert Crafts’ Bazaar 2015
Dastkar Desert Crafts’ Bazaar 2015 (20 – 31 August, 2015) was recently held at Kisaan Haat,, off Chhattarpur Metro Station. The exhibition involved sale of handcrafted merchandise from the desert regions of Gujarat and Rajasthan. Additionally, there were makeshift stalls selling regional food as well as cultural performances in the open amphitheater.
