Delhi’s Punjabi culture has been inspiration for many a plays and Hindi cinema in Bollywood. The major reason could be the joi-de-vivre of the Punjabi community. Baisakhi Mela was an extension of this ethos. Punjab Academy tried to bring together the colorful Punjabi culture along with their food, music and dances (performances by Jasbir Jassi & Gurmeet Bawa, Lachi Bawa and Glory Bawa, Shafaq Amanat Ali & Pammi Bai, Sunday Lakhwinder Wadali & Mamta Joshi), Phoolkari embroidery and tille wali jooti at a village fair setting in the heart of Delhi.
Below are some glimpses.
