Serendipity Arts Festival
Serendipity Arts Festival just concluded at Bikaner House. A host of traditional and modern painting and sculpture were displayed during the event. The program also included performing art events like theatre, storytelling and dance. The Festival was organised by the Serendipity Arts Trust.
Dimcha – A 10 on 10 Asian dining experience
Dimcha, the dimsum and chai restaurant has an outlet at Epicuria and we were invited for a review session. Ordinarily Asian food is lighter than Indian fare. Given the warm and stuffy weather that we were facing in Delhi NCR, light food was the way to go and we gladly accepted the invite.
Art Exhibition – Vikash Kalra
The works of artist and sculptor Vikash Kalra are presently on display at The Courtyard Grill, Courtyard by Marriott Gurugram Downtown. This commemorates his decade long journey in the field of arts. We were invited to the opening evening on 21st April and went through the collection over wine and canape.
Punjab Grill – Rangla Punjab food festival
Punjab Grill is holding a Punjabi food festival at their Select Citywalk outlet at Saket. We recently got to taste their specially curated menu for this festival. They have appertif – starters – main course – dessert structure and you can order from the select dishes in these sections. Happy Baisakhi folks!
Vamatara-To the Light/Bharatnatyam by Malavika Sarukkai & troupe
We were invited to watch Vamatara, a Bharatnatyam production by danseuse Malavika Sarukkai and her troupe, at Kamani Auditorium, New Delhi in September, 2016. We recently had the opportunity of watching this production again at GD Birla Sabhaghar, Kolkata. The crisp production of little more than an hour was conceptualized as well as choreographed by the veteran artist.
Delhi Food Truck Festival
Food trucks are the latest trend in Delhi NCR food scene. Delhi Food Truck Festival brought many new and established food trucks under one roof for a two days food festival. Apart from some glitches the festival managed to offer fun time for Delhiites over some food, beer and rain dance over a very hot weekend.
The Old Delhi Food Festival – Delicacies from Purani Dilli
The Old Delhi Food Festival was held between 25 to 26 March, 2017 at India Islamic Cultural Centre. The venue was overflowing with diners and people driving down Lodhi Road faced the brunt. Nonetheless, we were happy to manage a parking spot and went in for a taste of famous food from old Delhi without travelling all the way to Chandni Chowk!
Elephant in the Room – Ganesha as we don’t know him – META 2017
Mahendra Excellence Theatre Awards (META) this year had a host of mind-numbing beautiful plays and the jury would have had a very tough time in selecting the winners. A particularly interesting piece was ‘Elephant in the Room’ a soliloquy created out of an interesting topic. It is a quirky twist to the familiar story of Ganesha’s losing his head due to his father’s wrath and having an elephant head attached instead!
Meet & Greet – Delhi Daredevils @ Pullman New Delhi Aerocity
Hotel Pullman new Delhi Aerocity had organised a meet and greet session with the players of IPL team Delhi Daredevils over cocktails and dinner. Apparently the cricketers are staying at Pullman during their IPL matches in Delhi. We attended this glamorous evening and cheered Delhi Daredevils with #DilDilliHai

Done Thing – the Personal Assistant we all dream of
Done Thing is a personal assistant service who can be reached through their mobile application or phone call. We were already exposed to their services during the course of a wedding. But now we were facing a situation of a very different nature – a difficult bhasad – and assistance was needed – like never before. They saved the day by being there and it was an indeed #BhasadKaTheEnd
Kabeer – Musical solo act by Shekhar Sen
Purab Rang by Son Chiriya brought the solo musical Kabeer for the Delhi audience. It was a one man show by the playwright, actor, singer, director and composer Sekhar Sen. The performance and the venue was a great way to usher spring in the capital.
Moon of Taj – Desserts Taiwan style
Moon of Taj is a Taiwanese confectionery shop at Lajpat Nagar. Given our obsession with mithai we welcome this new addition in Delhi’s dessert scene. To cater to Indian sentiments, most or their desserts are eggless. We were recently invited for a review session and tried a lot of the fare.
Outcaste – META plays 2017
OUTCASTE was a unique play in Hindi by Randhir Kumar in this year’s META. It represented a traditional genre of Indian theatre that was activist in nature. It involved a huge number of artists who ruled the stage with clockwork precision.
