Café Sante
Gurgaon is bursting with new eating joints of all varieties. We are kind of tired of Sector 29 and have started looking for other options. Café Sante was recently discovered on one such expedition. We tried their bakery and here’s a headsup.
Paratha King – vegetarian restaurant in Rohini
We Delhites can’t get enough of parathas. So we realised when we landed up at Paratha King, a medium order restaurant in Rohini, Sector 7. It was Christmas and we had our little celebration – desi style.
Shruti Sadolikar at Bhinn Shadj
Indian classical music has another platform in Delhi NCR. IGNCA is a forerunner in promoting as well as propagating all sorts of arts. They have recently started a new series in music – Bhinn Shadj. This is a monthly event where they will have a classical music performance once a month. The celebrated Hindustani classical vocalist Shruti Sadolikar was the artist for December 2016 and she made our Christmas eve very memorable.
Taksim – New resto bar in good old Ansal Plaza
Winters are bountiful for the hospitality industry. People are forthcoming in dining out in the Christmas – New Year season. Hence new restaurants spring and bloom this part of the year. Taksim is one such resto-bar and we were invited for the launch. Its an attempt to revive the historical Ansal Plaza and we are all for it!
Toye – Stage adaptation of Girish Karnad’s Agni aur Barkha
Girish Karnad’s Agni aur Varsha has once again been adopted as a stage production Toye. Jyoti Dogra presented this play as part of Samanvay – The Annual IHC Indian Languages Festival. We watched this during the festival and left with mixed feelings.

In the last few years Delhi Tourism department has come up with innovative ways to connect with citizens. The way to Delhiite’s heart is through their stomach. Art of Blending – Session on scotch whisky
It is getting colder by the day and if you are enjoying the weather or suffering it, whisky may come to your rescue. Diageo organized a whisky blending session at Country Inn and Suites by Carlson, Gurgaon. This was an invited event and and we were on their guest list. It was a cold evening, and as we expected, whisky helped!
Hotel Paradiso – mask theatre by Familie Flőz, Berlin
Delhi’s theatre scene throws up a lot of experiences breaking geographical barriers. We frequently get to see productions from overseas. Hotel Paradiso from Berlin is a mask theatre production. This was a new for us.
Pizza Express – Christmas & Holidays special menu
Its holiday season world over and Pizza Express has introduced some new dishes in tune with the festive season. We were invited to sample the new dishes and we visited their outlet at Epicuria, Nehru Place. They also have a curate menu at a limited price offer for a festive meal.

Kishore Dayani through his comedy club Laughter Nation has been holding standup comedy shows across Delhi NCR. We have liked the acts for their simplicity, sincerity and the instant connect with Delhi audience. He recently showcased comedian Apurrv Gupta at Lok Kala Manch. Appurv is an engineer who’s taken up standup comedy and entertained the audience for about an hour or so…
Indigo Delicatessen – Review
DLF Cyberhub caters to a host of taste buds. It’s an amazing assembly of a multitude of cuisines from across the globe. We find this place a much better food hub than the way more wannabe Sector 29. Indigo Delicatessen in Cyberhub is a restaurant that serves European and Continental food. We regaled ourselves to their fare a recent evening.
