Ki Hangla – Bengali & Bangladeshi food in Gurgaon
It took some time for Bengali food to come out of the home kitchens to commercial spaces. There is no looking back since then and we find people from all over the country upbeat about trying out new Bengali dishes. Ki Hangla in Gurugram does just that. It has a long menu comprising popular as well as lesser known dishes of Bengali / Bangladeshi cuisines. We went the full hog during a recent dinner with Ki Hangla fare.
Oz Haat Charity Mela – Christmas in Delhi
Australian High Commission organizes a pre Christmas fair, Oz Haat Charity Mela , at its premise in Chanakyapuri. The event does create a lot of buzz among expats and locals and parking at this time in that area is a veritable nightmare. However by way of Christmas tradition we brave such woes and try our best to attend the event . The fair was held on 4th December this year and notwithstanding other commitments we just managed to attend the fun filled affair.

Zambar is one of the most popular South Indian restaurants in Delhi NCR. They have been around for a while and their Ambience Mall outlet has a subtle by aesthetic Kerala style décor. We have been fans of their food for a while and recently got an opportunity to try their new menu during a leisurely Sunday lunch.

Winter is here and so is the season of heavy food. Mughlai cuisine is the cuisine for the season. The Great Kabab Factory at Radisson Blu Plaza has come up their exotic range of Indian cuisine with Namaste India special. The highlights are the herbs and spices of India. Garden windows
The unplanned urbanization in Indian cities has left us grappling for living space. While we yearn for a bit of greenery, our balconies are often not enough for a little green patch. As a solution we came across garden windows, an outward extension to any window in an apartment. This could be a great step for building our own herb garden all inside the apartment.

It is a festival of comics – old and new – Indian and foreign. It’s a time travel to the past and a flight of fantasy to the future.
Times Literature Festival 2016
Jaipur Literature Festival has set a trend by creating glamorous events surrounding books. The Times Group has recently started organizing Literature Festivals in other parts of the country including the just concluded edition in Delhi. The two day event evoked a lot of interests among Delhites and others in NCR.

However, from our experience we have seen that most bars / pubs ignore the food section, as if this is an afterthought. But we never lose hope and we recently visited Soi 7 at Cyberhub. Art Tree has been active in propagating the cause of art in Delhi NCR. We have attended their art event Colorama earlier this year. They recently organized panel discussions on art and its role in contemporary times. Various concepts related to art were discussed during the sessions.
Awadh Food Festival at Edesia – Crown plaza
Crowne Plaza at Okhla has a multi cuisine restaurant Edesia. We recently visited this restaurant to try out their Awadh food festival. The wide buffet had a selection of Awadhi dishes. Additionally there were continental, salads, dessert and sushi counters.
Phulkari in Delhi
The richness of traditional Indian handicrafts never ceases to amaze us. One such instance is Phulkari embroidery of Punjab. Women in the villages of this region are the practitioners of this craft. The happy designs of Phulkari are an expression of joie de vivre of life.
