Ballabhpur ki Roopkatha – play directed by Sunil Rawat
Badal Sircar, the renowned playwright wrote in Bangla. However, his works transcend linguistic boundaries and have enormous human appeal. The Hindi play Ballabhpur ki Roopkatha is translated from Sarkar’s Bengali comedy Ballabhpurer Roopkatha and has been enacted by various theatre groups. Alongwith the comedy, the intelligent plot and the artistic visualization makes it a hit with audience anywhere. Ballabhpur ki Roopkatha was recently staged at India Habitat Centre. This was directed by Sunil Rawat and we recently went to see this presentation.
American Whiskey and Tapas evening at Sheraton, Saket
Whiskey is one of the most popular beverages in North India. There are various styles in which connoisseurs enjoy their whisky – with soda, without soda but punched with a soft drink or just neat. The WelcomHotel Sheraton in association with the celebrity bartender Shatbhi Basu organised an American Whiskey and Tapas evening. We were invited and had a unique experience.
Indus Flavour – Pocket friendly vegetarian food
The North Campus area has sprouted countless restaurants in the GTB Nagar area. We have tried quite a few of them and are frankly impressed. The ambiance, the service and most important – the food keep bringing us back here. Most of them serve vegetarian and non-vegetarian items. And this may be a deterrent for some diners who are not comfortable eating at joints serving non-vegetarian. This one is for them and for anyone who fancies sumptuous food of the vegetarian variety.
Khajjiar Near Dalhousie – Heaven on Earth
Summer vacation is here and people are busy making plans. Some are fortunate to travel afar. But for others, the going is not so bad – not bad at all! The ranges of Himachal, a great respite from the heat of the plains of NCR, are easily accessible from Delhi by buses, trains or private transport. Some of these places can be covered over a weekend and are still not spoilt by tourist pressure. Khajjiar is one such gem.

All you need to know about Jagran Film Festival in Delhi
Delhi is a hub for film festivals. The government as well as private organizations arrange these festivals. While most of these festivals have free entry, prior passes may have to be collected. Finding Dory – 7 reasons to watch this Disney movie in Hindi
The summer vacation is still on in Delhi NCR. Disney – Pixar could not have worked out a better timing for releasing Finding Dory. Directed by Andrew Stanton and Angus MacLane it is a sequel to Finding Nemo. While we shall always turn gooey when thinking about that one, Finding Dory also is all in all an enriching experience.

Ramadan opens up the taste bud for any foodie worth his salt. The Jama Masjid area sees a lotto buzz not only from the Muslim community but Mughlai food lovers from all over the place. While Karim’s at Jama Masjid is perhaps the most popular restaurant, we wanted an alternative. For Ramzan 2016, we dined at Al Jawahar, just ahead of Karim’s.

Mango Melas have been an annual feature in Delhi NCR since the last few years. It was held at Dilli Haat all these years. This year, it has a more central location – Handloom Haat on Janpath.
Boom Food – Food delivery in Delhi
It’s a matter of time that Shahpur Jat gets a new identity. Known to be a designer garment centre, this place is emerging as a food hub as well. We have visited a few eateries in this area in the recent past and have been most impressed. Last week we tried the food delivery service Boom Foods that operates out of Shahpur Jat and have one more from this area in our kitty.
