Contemporary Arts Week 2016
The yearly celebration of the contemporary art forms come together at the Contemporary Arts Week organised by Friends of Art. This 8 days long arts festival covers music, theatre, paintings, puppetry, short films and other visual arts forms. It is on from 15th to 22nd October at various venues across Delhi. The inaugural days are at Nehru Park
Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav 2016
The Ministry of Culture is back with Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav showcasing India’s art, culture, food at the sprawling IGNCA. The grounds have been transformed into an Indian fairyland. The food zone has exotic items from various parts of India. All in all – this event can add another angle to your festival fervor this season.
Dubliin Square – good dining option in Rohini
Rohini in north west Delhi is full of self service fast food joints but there is a lacuna for good casual dining places. Dubliin square in Sector 3 in Rohini, fills this gap by offering a huge space for diners to enjoy North Indian and Chinese food along with drinks and party space. We have a thing for stand up comedies and try to attend these gigs in Delhi NCR. Jason Byrne, the internationally renowned comedian recently performed at Kamani Auditorium. We watched him with wonder!
Factory by Sutra – Restaurant, brewery and coworking space
Sector 29, Gurgaon does it again. It is home to a new establishment Factory by Sutra. While the Factory is predominantly a restaurant that serves food and drinks, they also provided an added service. It is a co-working space with WiFi. We were there recently to check it out and here is our report.
Chakkar Chalaye Ghanchakkar – Comedy of Errors in Hindi
Aadyam’s last presentation from its series of plays for this year was “Chakkar Chalaye Ghanchakkar”. This was a light hearted comedy based on Shakespeare’s much adapted play Comedy of Errors. In line with the earlier Adyam plays, this comprised a star studded cast who performed to a full house at Kamani Auditorium in the course of multiple shows over a weekend.
Sanadige – Coastal cuisine in Delhi
We dig people in Bengal, Kerala, Mumbai and Goa for the easy access to fish. For most of us up north, coastal cuisine is something that we get to experience only at restaurants. Being suckers for sea food for its taste, and moreover nutritive value, we try to look up places that serves quality seafood. Sanadige at the tony Chanakyapuri was on our list for a while and we recently had a relaxed Sunday lunch here.
Colorama by Art Tree
Colorama by Art Tree is a display of pieces of painting and sculpture at the foyer of Vivanta by Taj, Dwarka. The exhibition is on from 17th September 2016 to 17th February 2017. We were invited to the opening evening for art viewing over wine and cheese. Some of the artists were also available that evening for interacting with the guests.
Indian Grill Room – New Menu
For most Indians, a meal means Indian food. Roti – Dal – Naan – Rice etc. While there is no dearth of restaurants that serve Indian food, surprisingly, quality eating options are difficult to find. In our search for such eating options that is somewhere in between local food joints and five star restaurants, we came across Indian Grill Room. Not once but twice.
FnB Buzz – Magazine launch at Hyatt Gurgaon
The food industry is on an expansion curve. Foodies haven’t had it so well before. Ocean Media Pvt Ltd recently launched FnB Buzz which covers food & beverages.
