The organisers have included live performances, games, music etc along with already promised gastronomical delight that is provided by several restaurants, new start ups and theme based food joints.

Durga Puja in Delhi NCR
Durga Puja is around the corner (19th – 22nd October, 2015) and parks / open spaces in NCR are dressing up for hosting the Goddess Durga and her children these five days. This festival in its present form is commonly a public celebration that involves craft, music, food, new clothes and the sound of dhak (the Bengali drum). People hop between various pandals to enjoy the festivities. Chittaranjan Park has the highest concentration of Pujas in NCR. The celebration supersedes the religious character and thus this festival is open to all.
Contemporary Arts Week
The Contemporary Arts Week is an yearly arts festival organised by Friends of Art. Their programs cover music, theatre, paintings and other visual arts etc.) It is on from 3rd to 10th October at various venues across Delhi. The inaugural evenings were at Nehru Park and had a moderate entrance fee.
Blind School Diwali Mela Dates
The dates for Blind School Diwali Bazaar for 2016 are 21-27 October. The timing for Diwali Mela are 10:30 am to 8 pm and entry is free for all. One can visit the Blind School Diwali Fair for their Diwali shopping. Diwali Gifts such as Chocolates, Diwali Decoration items, hand made Diyas, clothes, home accessories, art etc are available at the fair.
The Grub Fest – Curtain Raiser
The next Grub Fest would be held during 23-25 October at Ambience lawns, Gurgaon. During the recent curtain raiser, we are told that the focus would be on food from various states of India. Additionally they have a variety of entertainment programmes lined up for the visitors.
Bharat Parv – A celebration of Indian culture and cuisine
Bharat Parv is a festival organised to showcase the cuisine and culture of the various states of India. It is being held at various venues in Delhi. We welcome the initiative as a reminder about the advantages of living in a free state.
Ramzaan Special – Dinner at Karim’s
The foodies of Delhi (or outside) routinely flock Old Delhi (Jama Masjid area) during Ramzan to taste Mughlai food. Karim’s perhaps is the most popular joint in this league. However, there are a plethora of other eateries. In addition to Mughlai food, a variety of local breads with cream, jelly and coconut stuffing; sewaiyan; desserts such as Shahi Tukra and Anarasa and interestingly brewed milk tea with cream topping are must trys.

Diwali Mela at the Blind Relief Association is a harbinger of Diwali in Delhi.
Goods on offer generally comprise arty diya stalls, fancy hanging lamps, clothes, ornaments, home décor, Feng Shui items, dry flowers, handmade chocolates etc.

This year, Durga Puja is from 30th September to 3rd October and bamboo structures for marquees are already visible in various parks and community centres. C R Park has the highest concentration of Durga Pujas, and the area transforms into a carnival zone. Also, the Kashmiri Gate Durga Puja is one of the oldest celebrations in Delhi and is a huge crowd puller even today along with Kalibari near CP, Shiv Mandir at C R Park and Durga Bari.
Mixed Flute Jam-Raas Rang World Flute Festival 2014
The Krishnaprerna Trust, organised a collaboration of flautists from India and overseas in Raas Rang World Flute Festival at the very picturesque Bahai (Lotus) Temple. The combined effort of musicians from India and overseas was magical and the performance left the audience mesmerized.

Baisakhi Mela 2014 was an extension of Punjabi ethos. Punjab Academy tried to bring together the colorful Punjabi culture along with their food, music and dances in a village fair like setup at IGNCA.
