Christmas is around the corner. The nip in the air is a clear indication. People are already gearing up for some solid partying. Moreover, we are receiving invitations for various Christmas related ceremonies. In response to one such invite, we recently attended a cake mixing ceremony at Park Plaza, Shahdara.

Hyatt Place Gurgaon – 2nd Anniversary Lunch
Hyatt Place Gurgaon celebrated their second anniversary at the Gallery Café. We attended the lunch buffet that was organized for the occasion. It was a brightly lit Sunday afternoon and the weather had festivity in the air. The event had live music, lavish spread and a birthday cake too. Overall, it was all that a birthday party needed.
Dhaba by Claridges – Review
Delhi is perhaps the food hub in North India. Being through and through Delhites, we still crave for North Indian food of-and-on. Naturally, there is no dearth of North Indian food places here. Surprisingly, not all such places satisfy. We recently tried Dhaba by Claridges for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and here is our account.
Prabhu Chaatwala – Delhi’s famous street food
Many of us in Delhi – Gurgaon region potter down to Haldirams or Bikaners to satisfy our cravings for Indian snacks like chaat. Traditionally chaat has been street food, something Delhi is famous for all over the country. There are still some chaat stalls on Delhi stalls that have stood the test of time. Prabhu Chaatwala is one such chaat vendor that make even our parents nostalgic.
Fabelle – The Chocolate Story!
Chocolate is the new mithai in India. Breaking free from the echelons of the popular chocolate MNCs such as Cadbury, Hershey etc. that are available in neighborhood stores , designer chocolates are available in fancy standalone boutiques. And the offerings are as creative as they can get. Totally worth the indulgence.
Wah ji Wah – Review
Wah Ji Wah has been a mixed experience for us. They have several outlets across NCR and at times we have been disappointed. During a recent late night dinner pang, we had little choice but to walk in to Wah Ji Wah, one of the very few outlets open in the area. We are so glad we did.
INOX launched MUCHOS – Nachos, chips & pop corns
INOX has launched a range of Nachos, ready to eat pop corns and chips under the brand name MUCHOS. We recently tried their 9 flavors and are extremely pleased with the taste and quality. They have also introduced party packs that can be a unique Diwali gift.
Khaaja Chowk – Indian food cafe in Gurgaon
We have rarely experienced, predominantly non vegetarian restaurants serving some good vegetarian dishes. Khaaja Chowk makes an exception here. Along with their famous laal maas and fish tikkas, they are making some awesome vegetarian dishes too. Recently when we went there on a vegetarian day, we got to try their kathal and gobhi dishes along with some finger licking chaat. We didn’t regret visiting this place on a Tuesday one bit…
Dubliin Square – good dining option in Rohini
Rohini in north west Delhi is full of self service fast food joints but there is a lacuna for good casual dining places. Dubliin square in Sector 3 in Rohini, fills this gap by offering a huge space for diners to enjoy North Indian and Chinese food along with drinks and party space. We recently checked this place out and here’s our experience…
Starbucks has fewer stars in India
We were overjoyed when Starbucks opened its first outlet in India in 2012. Our prayers were answered. In other countries, Starbucks is a regular coffee joint. However it is a premium café in India. It is time to face some home truths.
Sarvana Bhawan, Janpath – Review
Sarvana Bhavan is a very popular South Indian food chain. They have branches all over the world. They have not one, but two outlets at Connaught Place. Somehow, they just don’t make the cut.
Frontier Biscuits – still in the front
If you are one of them who is terrified of the refrain “this festive season..” just bear with us. Frontier Biscuits have launched a range of healthy cookies in festival packaging. We recently tried some of the items and here is our opinion.
Factory by Sutra – Restaurant, brewery and coworking space
Sector 29, Gurgaon does it again. It is home to a new establishment Factory by Sutra. While the Factory is predominantly a restaurant that serves food and drinks, they also provided an added service. It is a co-working space with WiFi. We were there recently to check it out and here is our report.
Sanadige – Coastal cuisine in Delhi
We dig people in Bengal, Kerala, Mumbai and Goa for the easy access to fish. For most of us up north, coastal cuisine is something that we get to experience only at restaurants. Being suckers for sea food for its taste, and moreover nutritive value, we try to look up places that serves quality seafood. Sanadige at the tony Chanakyapuri was on our list for a while and we recently had a relaxed Sunday lunch here.
Indian Grill Room – New Menu
For most Indians, a meal means Indian food. Roti – Dal – Naan – Rice etc. While there is no dearth of restaurants that serve Indian food, surprisingly, quality eating options are difficult to find. In our search for such eating options that is somewhere in between local food joints and five star restaurants, we came across Indian Grill Room. Not once but twice.
