Delhi is a treasure house of street food. People come from afar to try Delhi’s street food trail. In this competitive world, street food vendors add twists to their ware to stand out in the crowd. Sindhi Corner’s heart shaped tikkis are renowned and we have been hearing about these for a while. We decided to check if these tikkis won our heart.

Sadhya – Special vegetarian meal at Zambar
Zambar at Ambience Mall, Gurgaon has a special vegetarian Kerala meal platter-“Sadhya” to celebrate Vishu the Malayalee New Year on Wednesday, 14th April. We got to try this fare and took us more than 1 hour to finish. People who are bored of regular North Indian vegetarian food in this period can try Sadhya for variety. Zambar is also serving the Navratri Thali along with this special vegetarian meal during the instant festival season.
Loaves & Kisses – Cakes and coffee in Gurgaon
Loaves & Kisses is a couple of glass cases full of baked goodies – cakes, pastries, cookies, bread etc. inside Club Patio, Gurgaon. We recently visited Club Patio for an event and came across Loaves & Kisses. Suckers for all things sweet, we were tempted. So, we did the done thing and stopped at this café for some coffee and comfort.
Lockup-Prison theme restaurant in Gurgaon
To offer something new, hoteliers are trying to think of new concepts. Sometimes, the theme does appear to be a little over the top. That said, the proof of the pudding is in the eating. So while we were a little taken aback of the jail themed restaurant “Lockup”, we got curious and recently dined here. Thankfully we do not have any first hand experience, but we are definite what they serve at “Lockup” is not jail food. 🙂
Side Walk – Desserts at Hyatt Regency
Side Walk is a patisserie inside Hyatt Regency. They have a variety of cakes, tarts, chocolates and bread. One can also order coffee here. The question is whether it is worth the Ring Road traffic to just visit this rather small outlet.
Habibi – New fine dining restaurant in West Delhi
West Delhi is buzzing with new restaurants or pubs opening almost every week. We recently attended the launch party of Habibi, a Mediterranean -Lebanese- Moroccan restaurant in Rajouri Garden. Along with food and drinks, we gotta see some Belly Dance too!
Farzi Cafe – Connaught Place
We recently dined at immensely popular Farzi Cafe’s CP outlet. We tried quite a few things and noticed that the focus is mainly on presentation and gimmick rather than the taste. We are all for plating and the drama but in Farzi’s case it was an overkill. At the end of the day the proof is in the taste. We felt their dishes had a lot of oomph but not enough substance. Read on to know why do we think so…
Gadré – Product Launch
We recently attended Gadré product launch at Cafe Public Connection, Connaught Place. They have introduced packaged and processed seafood in a ready to it form. Seafood is a healthy diet option but cooking can get a little messy. Hence we wanted to explore if Gadré was making our lives any easier.

Mediterranean March at NYC Radisson Blu Plaza – Delhi
Radisson Blu at NH-8 has this awesome Sunday brunch and for this month they have gone Mediterranean with some Indian and Chinese items to cater to all. Tackling the salads, starters, soups, main course and dessert require some strong tummy. If you are coming for this, make sure you haven’t skipped the morning exercise.
Cocoa on the Vine
We did not think much about wine and chocolate being complementary items. But Art Chocolat | Academy of Chocolate Arts had invited us to a session of tasting and pairing wine and chocolate. This was a new thing that we did and it sure was fun!
Ancient Barbeque
The dining sector is expanding like wild fire in Gurgaon. We recently lunched at Ancient Barbeque near South City II, Gurgaon and went for the set menu – unlimited starters, Indian buffet main course and desserts. The Kebabs – Biryani – Sewaiayin were totally worth the drive.
Jashn-e-Rekhta – Celebrating Urdu
Jashn-e-Rekhta was organised by Rekhta.org to celebrate the Urdu language among the Delhi NCR urbanites. They had a line up of plays, music and other performances, art, crafts and food that could be linked to the Urdu culture. Celebrities were in attendance either as performers or as patrons. We had a media invite for this event, which otherwise went rather unnoticed.
