Baisakhi Mela 2014

Baisakhi Mela 2014

NaMo Chai @ Cha Bar

NaMo Chai @ Cha Bar

Riding on the Narendra Modi wave, Cha Bar at Connaught Place has been serving NaMo chai in a basic aluminium kettle with Modi’s pic on it. The idea is very novel. Salute to the democracy system that enables someone to reach the highest office, his frugal background notwithstanding.

Mother’s Day Lunch @ Sagar Ratna

Mother’s Day Lunch @ Sagar Ratna

Sagar Ratna has revised their menu. Apart from typical south Indian fare, they have included North-Indian dishes along with some outlandish Dosas. We were amused to see dishes like hot garlic dosa, spring roll dosa and chocolate wrap dosa etc. But this is not just another culinary gimmick. It was indeed mouth watering.

Fresc Co

Fresc Co

Fresc Co, an Italian food restaurant at Janpath, CP had always been very inviting and famous because of its word of mouth publicity. Though its buffets are much discussed, we skipped this and went a la cart. While Fresc Cos’ soups, salads and main course were divine, dessert was just about alright. We’d highly recommend their lime grilled chicken salad.

Oh Calcutta

Oh Calcutta

Outside Paschim Bengal, one of the most recommended Bengali fine dine restaurants is Oh Calcutta. But this place couldn’t live up to our expectations. The Oh Calcutta Biriyani was hardly Calcutta. It was more like a typical Delhi Biriyani (like Nizams, DEEZ etc), loaded with spices and chilli. And that is something any Calcuttan would perhaps swear – Calcutta Biriyani has no mirchi.

Bhangra Kitchen

Bhangra Kitchen

Based in Rajouri Garden’s, J Block DDA market which is a cluster of non veg eateries, Bhangra kitchen totally stands out for its extra ordinary food. Seriously tasty and sinful, its a perfect place to chill out and binge with buddies on a weekend evening.

China Fare

China Fare

If you want a neat experience of the Indian Chinese at a convenient location, China Fare, Khan Market is our recommendation. The food at China Fare is not just sumptuous; it is visually pleasing as well. Quite like their walls. The courteous staff, the unpretentious environment and reasonable prices make China Fare a restaurant to revisit frequently.

Elma’s Brasserie
