Ramleela – Goliyon ki Raasleela
Ramleela-Goliyon ki Raasleela is a typical Guns ‘n’ Roses film. Alas the guns are fake and roses, plastic. The multi colored sets and attention to detailing in creating the “look” is so annoying that you want to rush to the exit gate for fresh air and to see something colorless.
Gravity
IN GRAVITY, the silence does not portray the love between a man and a woman but basic human emotions are brought to surface and ooze out of screen via 3D images.
The Lunchbox
The Lunchbox – A post modern story of two adults who solved their loneliness by sharing their lives through letters in a lunch box.
Shuddh Desi Romance
Small towns are not just beating metropolitan cities in online shopping. Live-in relationships and premarital sex are also getting common in small cities. Shuddh Desi Romance deals with the story of a commitment phobic live-in couple in Jaipur in a reasonably comic style.
B. A. Pass
B. A. Pass – A clean attempt to make a realistic film based on a male prostitute’s life.
Bajate Raho
Dolly Ahluwalia, Ranvir Shorey, a simple storyline and a very reasonable duration of less than two hours makes this film a perfect Saturday evening watch.
Ship of Theseus
Three short stories flowing in different directions only to confluence into the fourth one completing a puzzle and making sense of the title – “Ship of Theseus”. Organ Transplant leading to outlook transformation, one has to watch it to experience it.
Bhaag Milkha Bhaag
Despite very high production value, extreme hype a lot of hard work by Farhan Akhtar, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag disappoints.
Ranjhanaa
Dhanush’s Hindi debut Ranjhanaa is not the love story of a “HERO” but of a common man – an average Joe – a guy next door… who never got his love reciprocated. A must watch for its unusual script, excellent direction and sterling performance by this South Indian actor
Oh My God
As my friend and co-blogger for delhi-fun-dos.com keeps saying “Man at his best is god”. This is probably what this film is trying to say. A film with a message. Watch it for awesome script and great performances.
Go Goa Gone
Three desperate friends (Vir Das / Kunal Khemu / Anand Tiwari) attend the rave party and became targets of hundreds of zombies. It’s no a “scare the shit out of you” horror film. Infact the marriage of comedy with horror is praiseworthy.
Bombay Talkies
This film has been brought together to celebrate hundred years of Indian cinema. An amazing anthology of four short films – Karan Johar (Ajeeb Dastaan Hain Yeh); Dibakar Banerjee (Star); Zoya Akhtar (Sheila Ki Jawaani) and Anurag Kashyap (Murabba).
Nautanki Saala
Rohan Sippy’s latest “Nautanki Saala” is a new age entertainer. It’s an impressive film and left us with a smile on our faces. The storyline is far from a typical bollywood potboiler and minus any formula RomComs keep using again and again. It’s a feel good film made for audience with some gray matter and patience.
Jolly LLB
Jolly LLB is the story of Jolly-The lawyer from Meerut who wants to find his place under the sun. The film does not try to be anything at all apart from being an entertaining all age weekend evening watch.
