Ibis is celebrating its 10th anniversary. They have been on Golf Course Road in Gurgaon since a decade. Needless to say they have suffered the revamp mayhem of this place and have survived that. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger they say. They would have only emerged strength to strength and we were invited for a staycation at Ibis to mark this event.
We attempted travelling to Goa during the party season during New Year. But for one reason or the other, the trips have not succeeded. To turn the jinx on its head, we made a random plan this September, an off season. This turned out to be a truly learning experience.

Jalori Pass is a high mountain pass in the Kulu district of Himachal Pradesh. We were visiting Tirthan Valley and our friendly hosts at the resort Tirthan Anglers’ Retreat arranged a day trip for us to Jalori. We can’t thank them enough for letting us have this breathtaking experience.

Tirthan Anglers’ Retreat is a beautiful resort in Tirthan Valley tucked among the remote hills of Himachal Pradesh. The Retreat is on the bank of Phalachan River, a tributary of Tirthan River. In fact the river almost winds its way through this resort. It is already monsoon in the hills and we just spent a couple of amazing days here fishing for happiness. Quite literally so.
We as travelers need our comfort spot once in a while. Given its proximity and multiple modes of transport, Jim Corbett National Park has emerged as our go to place this season. We have stayed at a couple of places and Golden Tusk Resort here is among our favourite.. We always fondly look back at our holidays here.

We tried to spot some unique living arrangements here and to this end, our last summer break was at Golden Tusk, Ramnagar. It lies at the periphery of the National Park and, in addition to the understated luxury, springs surprises.
Have you heard of Mitawali? It is said that the Indian Parliament House has been designed in line with the Shiva temple here. Mitawali is in Madhya Pradesh and we were in a mood to do an offbeat road trip from Delhi. Although MP is close, we weren’t sure if we could locate Mitawali.
