A day trip to Karna lake, about 140 Kms from Delhi, takes about 2.5 hours. Once out of Delhi, the highway is dotted with dhabas and resorts where one can stop for breakfast/lunch or even spend the night. Gulshan dhaba, where we stopped, is a somewhat modern take on dhaba which does not disappoint. Karna lake, surrounded by greenery, is a great photo op. Further, boating facilities make this a very attractive fun-do for children as well.

Mount Abu is the only hill station in Rajasthan. We found Mount Abu to be a very activity oriented hill station. There are temples, sunset points, forests, trekking, shopping options, a lake, heritage places and options galore. Even in the month of June an excellent weather made this trip very pleasant and memorable for us.
Dilwara Jain Temples in Mount Abu are intricately carved and reflect the opulence of that era. The ornamental carvings depict the Jain gurus, gods, and goddesses and various pleasant patterns.
Mussoorie has everything that a typical north Indian hill station has. We went from Delhi to Mussoorie just to relax and since there was no “you don’t do it and regret it for life activity” our purpose was served.
Last weekend we visited Bharatpur, popular for its Bird Sanctuary, Keoladeo Ghana National Park. We also visited popular temples in Bharatpur, Bharatpur Fort and Deeg palace, 40 Kms from Bharatpur.
