Venue: Vivanta by Taj, Dwarka
Date: 22 September 2016
It is pouring art in Delhi NCR. We have recently come across some interesting painting exhibitions by artists Santosh Kumar Sahni and Pinaki Ranjan Bera. These exhibitions were held at Triveni Art Gallery and many aficionados visited these displays.
Colorama by Art Tree is another art exhibition. However, we could see the difference. Instead of a stiffy gallery, the art works were displayed at an open foyer of the sprawling Vivanta by Taj, Dwarka. Essentially this made the pieces way more accessible to one and all.
The pieces of sculptures in ceramic and bronze by Madhur Sen and Sourabh Mazumdar – seated human figures and heads – were most impressive.
The ambit of art has expanded and we marvel at this aspect during our visits to India Art Fair or United Art Fair or Coup at Kiran Nadar Museum of Art. Although Colorama was a modest collection, it reinstated that art has no boundaries.
All the art works are on sale at reasonable prices and would be on display at the Taj lobby for about 6 months or so (till 17th February 2017). In fact, on the opening evening some of the artists were interacting with the guests who seemed to have myriad questions about their works.
The evening was complete with the wine and cheese that were served during the course of the event.
Unpretentious and fun, All in all, it was a great evening. We are happy to be invited for the event.
