The Condé Nast Traveller and Himalayan Sparkling Top Restaurant Awards 2017 announced and awarded country’s 50 finest premium restaurants. The judging panel included a host of food writers, critics, food show hosts, influencers and taste makers from all over India.
Hosted by Rahul Akerkar and fashion designer AD Singh, Condé Nast Traveller and Himalayan Sparkling Top Restaurant Awards ceremony was held at the plush lawns of The Lodhi, New Delhi and we were invited. It was, in fact, a star studded awards ceremony attended by Page 3 regulars like Suhel Seth, Bina Ramani, A D Singh and who’s who of restaurant industry like Ritu Dalmia, Zorawar Kalra and many more.
The award ceremony started by announcing 6 Excellence Awards followed by 50 Top Restaurant Awards. New Delhi based Shivesh Bhatia won the Social Media Star Award and Delhi’s Indian Accent won the top position in Condé Nast Traveller and Himalayan Sparkling The Top Restaurant Awards 2017. Along with these The Bombay Canteen (Mumbai), The Table (Mumbai), Bomras (Goa), and Bukhara, ITC Maurya (New Delhi) took the top 5 ranks in the listing.
The award ceremony was crisp (No long speeches… thank heavens) and we enjoyed the lovely weather sipping our wine and gorging on some wonderful sushi and dimsums. The ceremony was followed by a wonderful dinner buffet at The Lodhi.
Condé Nast Traveller and Himalayan Sparkling The Top Restaurant Awards 2017 was but an indication of how seriously Indians are taking their food and the associated dining out experience. No wonder restaurants in star rated hotels as well as standalone places are coming up with new concepts of food, entertainment and enhanced hospitality almost everyday. The stunning ceremony by Condé Nast also revealed the newly found glitz and glamor of the Indian food industry.
