Laal Mas pizza – the Italians maybe shuddering but we in India are forever enthusiastic in giving any foreign cuisine a local familiar twist. During a recent visit we tried this dish at the “Crusty Gourmet Pizza” outlet, sec 22 Gurgaon. They appear to be customising all the pizzas they serve – seafood pizza, yo yo desi veg pizza, chicken and veg pizza with peri peri seasoning etc. As their signature, they garnish the pizzas with lines of pesto mayonnaise.

Among the pizzas that we tried, there was Traditional Veg, Peri Peri Chicken, Seafood pizza and the aforesaid Lal Mas pizza. Laal Mas (super spicy Rajasthani read meat dish) topped pizza is for people who are for fusion cuisine and like spicy food. Seafood pizza was also good effort that somehow did not gel well. The other pizzas were decent.

We also had Green Apple and Virgin Mojito on the side.

They also make sweet calzones with chocolate / Nutella / fruit and nut fillings. As dessert items, these were unique.

Soft décor colours and a clean ambience at this place emits good vibes. We would recommend this place to pizza lovers who are willing to look beyond Dominos and Pizza Huts.
