Gurgaon has been touted as the Singapore of India. In Singapore, as anybody who has lived there would know, barring special occasions, people have all their meals outside. Gurgaon has caught on to this trend and many food businesses operate on home deliveries.
We recently ordered dinner from Daawat-E-Kashmir. As the name suggests they serve Kashmiri dishes along with other North Indian fare.
For starters we had Paapdi Paneer, Murg Lemon Leaf Tikka and Mutton Mughlai Kebab.
We would also recommend Lemon Leaf Chicken Tikka for its refreshing seasoning.
Among Kashmiri dishes we had Al Yakhni, Mutton Rogan Josh and Tabak Maas. These dishes had distinct taste and flavour, eg., the Tabak Maas was a little fibrous but a delight to the seasoned red meat connoisseur.
Next we had Dal Makhni and Mooli Raita along with Masala Parathas and Pudina Parathas. We liked Masala Parathas better and the Mooli Raita was also a first.
While we liked the flood, it is meant for occasional indulgence as the oil and spice content may not be helpful for daily diet. In fact for health concerns we wanted the food by 7 but it was delivered post 8. Punctuality is a virtue for everybody but for a business operating in the zone of food delivery, this should be their in their core priorities.
Nonetheless what’s a few extra kilos for an occasional Sunday night treat!
