Winters are the season of celebration in Delhi. From weddings to fairs, festivals to promotions it looks like everybody wants to make the best of Dilli ki sardi. This is the season to binge too. No wonder two food festivals are happening together in Delhi.

We wrote about National street food festival 2014 ( https://delhi-fun-dos.com/national-street-food-festival-2014-at-jln-stadium/)  at JLN stadium recently. Alongside another food festival “Dilli ke pakwan” is also giving Delhi foodies a gala time. Organized by Delhi Tourism, this festival is also geared mostly towards street food. An array of famous food vendors of Delhi have put up their stalls at Rajiv Gandhi Vyapar Kendra on Baba Kharag Singh Marg, Connaught Place.

The decor looked very festive with shining kites, inverted umbrellas, Chinese lights on trees and the makeshift food stalls adding smoke from their woks to the misty fog of Delhi.

This time they have included a section for art and craft too. A separate set of stall was holding an exhibition of Kashmir crafts. We had piping hot Kashmiri kahwa tea from the kahwa stall right outside this exhibition section. For dinner we had changezi chicken, roomali roti and sheermal from the Changezi Chicken stall. Sheermal is an all time favorite with us. This slightly sweet mughlai bread goes very well with spicy chicken dishes.

We also has Daulat ki chaat, the whipped cream desert that is only available in winters,

We wanted to try more stuff but it was time for the stall owners to wind up. Sadly they are not allowed beyond 8.30-9 pm. A food festival in Delhi that too on weekdays should be open at least till 10 pm. Anyway it is a good initiative by Delhi Tourism and a must do for Delhi foodies.
